April 2016

My infrequent attempts to blog and update anything mean that the occasional sporadic additions of news or stories will always be a feature! As I have been playing so much music lately, I haven't written much but a few things have happened over the last few months and, potentially, more to come.

Bytestories have published my short collection of Flash Fiction stories which you can download for FREE (see below). Grab a coffee, a glass of wine or a beer and sit and relax with some short tales from around the globe.

Oct 2015

WINNER - Spinetinglers Short Story Award

 

My story "Mr Shmoopie" has won the October 2015 first prize in the Spinetinglers short story award and you can view it on the link below. There has been talk of publishing an anthology of short stories of all winners of the award over the years (which would include two of my stories) so I'll keep you informed if/when this happens. In the meantime, check out the site and the other great stories you'll find there too.

WINNER - Spinetinglers Short Story Award

 

Spinetinglers was established in 2006 by writers, for writers. They run monthly short story competitions, publish hardbacks, paperbacks and ebooks and provide a wonderful resource for writers and fans everywhere. My story "The End of Death" has won the award for Jan 2015 and will be featured in an upcoming anthology of short stories to be published in all three formats. You will find more at the link below:

March 2014

"The Woman on the Pavement" included in Anthology

 

"The Woman on the Pavement" has been included in Stringbark Press' antholgy of short stories (Editor's Choice) called "Hitler Did It". See below for a link to this and to other fantastic stories from established and up-n-coming wroters.

Nov 2012

WINNER - Raspberry & Vine Short Story Competition October 2012.

"Battle of Wits" short story has won the Raspberry & Vine Short Story Award for October 2012. The R&V Award is judged twice a year (April and October). Raspberry & Vine seeks to develop Australia's culture through literature, film and art. Raspberry & Vine aims to have Australia recognised as a world leader in the arts through promotion of new talent.

To encourage new writers, they offer a twice yearly Short Story Competition, and a forum to discuss all things writing. You can read the story here: 

 



 

Oct 2012

Second prize for "Sanguine Saviour".

​

Darker Times (www.darkertimes.co.uk) is a monthly competition for writers who like to dabble in the darker side of life. Horror, suspense and noir mingle with some fantasy and generally darker fiction. "Sanguine Saviour" picked up equal second prize in october and was also included in the first Anthology of short stories as well (available on amazon as an eBook and in paperback)
